In my world as a clinician and health coach I see people when they are vulnerable, in the midst of suffering, their armor stripped away. They are fearful.

Our unconscious brain creates fear in an effort to protect us. It keeps us fixed in patterns of behaviour that have at some point in our past kept us safe.

The problem is as we go through life and face new challenges our brain doesn’t upgrade these patterns and that’s when we find we are stuck in ways of being, feeling and doing that prevent us from moving forwards.

By shifting our attention from mind to body we can get under the radar of the thinking brain and we are able to see how and where we are gripped by our historical conditioning.

If we learn how to listen to the language of our body we can access a different kind of intelligence that lies beneath our thinking and lets us know about threats to our physical wellbeing; our state of mind, our emotions and how we relate to other people.

We can build more resilient physical and psychological systems and realise our innate capacity for healing.
